With only 28% of women in the industrial sector struggling to diversify its workforce, and few having succeeded in establishing themselves in the field. TRIGO, global leader in quality inspection for the transportation industry, is making gender equity a priority in its 2025 ESG strategy through its “EmpowHer” program. At the heart of this initiative is a partnership with the French “Elles bougent” association, aimed at encouraging young girls to pursue careers as engineers or technicians. This is complemented by a communication campaign highlighting career development opportunities within the Group.
According to the Ministry of National Education, only 30% of young women pursue STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), and nearly 23% have been discouraged from pursuing scientific studies. This limited choice is often influenced by a lack of encouragement and information, as well as self-censorship linked to prejudices about women’s competencies in these fields.
Based on this observation, TRIGO Group has decided to work towards breaking down preconceptions about industrial careers. With 32% women in its French workforce (compared to 28% in industry), slightly above the sector average, and although women represent 52% of managers at TRIGO, the group believes there is still significant potential for developing female talent within the sector.
Among other actions, the company has established a partnership with “Elles bougent” association, which is well-established throughout France, to raise awareness among young French girls about scientific career opportunities.
About twenty female engineers and technicians, as well as male “ambassadors,” will regularly visit middle and high schools across the country to share stories about women’s career paths, opportunities, and ambitions at TRIGO.
“Industry cannot afford to miss out on female talent, nor the creative and innovative potential that gender diversity represents. Technological progress is at stake,” states Matthieu Rambaud, CEO of TRIGO Group.
These school visits will officially launch on December 5th, during the “Elles bougent pour l’Orientation” day. Secondary schools will open their doors to receive testimonials from mentors, ambassadors, and students from several major industrial groups, including TRIGO. These meetings will offer students the opportunity to broaden their career perspectives and discover a new vision of scientific and technical studies, which are still too often perceived as reserved for men.
Through its “EmpowHer” program, TRIGO also celebrates the success of its female employees with inspiring careers who continue to pave the way for other women.
A series of portraits showcases women at different organizational levels, from quality inspection to management positions, sharing their experiences, challenges, and advice for succeeding in a male-dominated sector. Once again, the goal is to demonstrate the diversity of possible career paths through concrete examples of professional success and fulfillment.
“The aim is to create genuine female role models, which the sector currently lacks. We hope to present an authentic image of women thriving in our industrial world and inspire vocations,” says Geoffrey Dorkel, HR Director of TRIGO France.
TRIGO is the global leader in quality management services for the automotive, aerospace, rail, and heavy transportation industries. With 10,000 employees in 28 countries, TRIGO offers a comprehensive portfolio of services throughout the supply chain, from production inspection to auditing, consulting, engineering, and training.
