Business Development Representative

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Business Development Representative in Auburn Hills, MI.

Overall Purpose

This position is responsible for generating qualified sales leads for TRIGO services through proactive outbound prospecting. Success in this position is measured by the quality and volume of qualified leads, appointments set, and opportunities created for the sales team.

Reports To: Director, USA

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

  • Generate qualified leads through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn outreach, and other outbound prospecting activities.
  • Identify and research target accounts, key contacts, and prospective customers in assigned markets.
  • Qualify prospects based on business need, service fit, timing, and decision-making structure.
  • Set appointments and create sales-ready opportunities for the sales team.
  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of target accounts, active prospects, and follow-up activity.
  • Work closely with sales to support pipeline growth through disciplined prospecting and lead generation.
  • Support campaign objectives and market development efforts in coordination with Sales and Marketing.

Market Research

  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers, industry segments, and business opportunities.
  • Monitor market activity, competitive developments, and target account trends to improve prospecting effectiveness.
  • Use data, research, and outreach results to refine prospect lists and improve lead quality.

Organization & Management

  • Maintain an organized lead pipeline and complete activity history.
  • Accurately enter, update, and manage prospect and lead information within the CRM system.
  • Track and report key performance indicators related to prospecting activity, appointments set, lead quality, and opportunity creation.
  • Maximize the effectiveness of CRM, outreach tools, and data platforms.
  • Stay current on prospecting tools, outreach methods, and lead generation best practices.

Operations

  • Develop a working understanding of TRIGO services and how they support customer needs and operational challenges.
  • Gather relevant prospect information that helps the sales team prepare for follow-up and opportunity development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong cold calling and outbound prospecting skills.
  • Ability to research accounts, identify decision-makers, and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Ability to use data and research to identify high-potential leads.
  • Experience using CRM systems to track prospecting activity and manage lead pipelines.
  • Strong situational awareness and business acumen, with the ability to read customer cues, adapt approach and messaging, and build rapport in a friendly, approachable, and non-pushy manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with prospective customers.
  • Exceptional listening skills with the ability to ask effective questions, understand prospect needs, and identify qualified opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard sales and outreach tools.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Overall Recommendations

  • 3+ years relevant professional experience in lead generation, prospecting, inside sales, appointment setting, or business development required.
  • Experience with cold calling and outbound customer outreach required.
  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, engineering services, staffing, or B2B service environments preferred.
