Quality Engineer

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is seeking to fill a first shift Quality Engineer position within our Decatur, IL. This non-exempt position has an estimated hourly pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

Overall Purpose

The Quality Engineer will identify quality problems, change or create new processes to address said issues, and create the necessary documentation.

Reports to

Direct : Director of Operations                    Indirect : General Manager

Responsibilities

(To include but not limited to the following)

  • Create/Modify procedures, work instructions, forms, process flows.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis to identify quality related issues
  • Identify sources of quality problems and design corrective actions that will resolve the issues
  • Implement continuous improvement techniques/projects to improve customer quality and increase productivity
  • Conduct necessary training events for improving quality-related processes and techniques
  • Liaise between customer and suppliers, leveraging problem solving and quality improvement tools and methodology
  • Process audits
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

  • Comprehension level knowledge of complex drawings, engineering specifications, and standards
  • Comprehension level knowledge of ISO TS 16949 and QA-9000 standards
  • Comprehension level knowledge of 5S/8D and root-cause analysis
  • Documented proficiency in data collection, statistical analysis, and critical business thinking
  • Operation level knowledge of statistical process control techniques
  • Operation level knowledge of inspection techniques and measuring and gaging equipment
  • Operation level knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and FMEA
  • Exceptional written communication skills
