From Shopfloor to Report in Half the Time: AI Boosts Field Operations

A new AI-enabled approach is helping our teams capture shopfloor insights faster, generate clearer reports, and cut assessment lead-times dramatically.

Developed by the Supplier Performance & Crisis Management team at TRIGO to support field operations, this new AI-backed system is meant to streamline supplier health checks for Stellantis.

The solution combines a structured assessment platform with an AI “agent” that helps teams move from manual note-taking to faster, more consistent reporting.

In practice, field teams can use a tablet or phone on the shop floor and speak directly into the system as they review each assessment element. The tool then generates an agenda and scope per element, produces draft scores (which are proofread before finalizing), and creates a detailed report for the customer, turning observations into actionable documentation with far less friction. This is especially valuable in fast-paced shopfloor routines (like “fast response” meetings), where it’s difficult to listen, participate, and capture accurate notes at the same time.

A key differentiator is how the AI has been built: standards and prior project knowledge are uploaded into the system so the agent references-controlled sources, reducing the risk of pulling irrelevant information from the open web. After field testing, the team reports ~95% accuracy, with human review remaining a critical safeguard.

The results are compelling: a process that previously took ~4–5 days has been reduced to around 2–2.5 days, cutting time and costs by about 50%, improving efficiency and strengthening competitiveness. Following an initial trial in the US, Stellantis is now looking at broader, global use.
