Tactical Quality Engineer

TRIGO is looking for a Technical Quality Engineer in Ankeny, IA to help ensure product quality, support manufacturing operations, and work directly with customers and suppliers to resolve complex quality challenges. This full-time 1st shift opportunity offers competitive pay of $26.00-$29.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Overall Purpose
Assists the customer as the primary liaison between the customer's assembly processes and the customer's reactive supplier quality department. The Technical Quality Engineer (TQE) utilizes a combination of customer assembly specifications and their personal inspection background to maintain the customer's quality expectations accurately, efficiently, and in a professional manner.

Direct: Site Manager Indirect: Area Manager/Director of Operations
Responsibilities
Respond to customer assembly line quality concerns and provide timely support to minimize production disruptions.
Implement short-term containment actions and coordinate product sorting, inspection, or rework activities for nonconforming material.
Document, track, and communicate assembly line and product quality issues to appropriate stakeholders.
Investigate supplier-related quality concerns and communicate findings to suppliers, quality teams, supply management, and operations personnel.
Collaborate with customer quality representatives to assess issue scope, collect relevant data, and support issue resolution efforts.
Monitor and report containment results, providing timely updates to support operational and business decisions.
Assist with root cause investigations, data analysis, corrective actions, and 8D problem-solving activities to prevent issue recurrence.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, process effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Skills & Competencies
Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, assembly prints, specifications, and work instructions.
Proficient in quality inspection techniques, measurement methods, and the use of precision measuring tools, equipment, and gauges.
Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, product quality requirements, and defect identification.
Ability to investigate quality concerns, collect and analyze data, and support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn customer-specific quality and reporting systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge of quality methodologies such as containment, 8D problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement practices preferred.
