QUALITY MANAGEMENT AT CUSTOMER SITE

An aircraft equipment supplier wanted to monitor the quality of its products at the manufacturer’s site during aircraft assembly process. The product was complex and definitions varied widely from one delivery to the next depending on the options and variants of the equipment. Several TRIGO engineers inspected and analysed the products throughout the assembly process. The team took immediate action and handled over 800 customer queries per month received from the aircraft manufacturer’s quality department. The mission, which was aimed to optimize the cooperation between the OEM and the supplier, turned out to be extremely useful, since the rate of non-conformities has dropped radically.

An auto equipment manufacturer developed a new product for a hybrid vehicle at a production unit especially created for the purpose. At the critical point between the industrialisation and production phases many aims remained to be solved. They asked TRIGO to apply its organisational and professional skills to the project.

A TRIGO engineer analysed the problems and focused on the root causes. Together with the end customer, he developed the 8D corrective action reports, and supervised and signed off on the improvement actions as they were implemented. At the same time, he conducted a campaign to assess capabilities, optimized the supervision plan and managed the initial sample documentation. By the end of his assignment, the production quality had stabilized and was under control.
