Several automotive manufacturers such as STELLANTIS, RENAULT, FORD, GM, etc., as well as some Tier 1 suppliers, require the implementation of Reverse FMEA during the production phase as part of their CSR.
Reverse FMEA is a tool that is used to enhance the PFMEA by verifying the application and effectiveness of the prevention and detection measures defined in the PFMEA during series production, identifying new failure modes and causes, and evaluating them on the basis of factual data during series production.
At the end of a Reverse FMEA, new risk reduction actions are decided and the PFMEA and associated production documentation are updated.
