Description

The CQI-12 (Coating System Assessment) is a standard developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group to assess and improve the control of coating processes, in particular surface treatments such as painting, electroplating and functional coatings, which are widely used in the automotive industry.

In accordance with the IATF 16949 standard and within the framework of specific customer requirements, this standard applies to all suppliers in the automotive sector that use coating processes.

The aim of the CQI-12 assessment is to reduce the risk of failure associated with surface treatment processes, to ensure the durability, adhesion and performance of coatings applied to components, and to guarantee their compliance with the quality, safety and performance requirements expected by automotive manufacturers.

This standard is part of a strategy for the continuous improvement of specialised processes. It provides a structured framework enabling organisations to self-assess across several key areas: control of coating processes, equipment compliance, management of critical parameters, staff competence and the effectiveness of control systems.

You want to understand the requirements of the CQI-12 manual and self-assess your coating processes or take a critical look at the self-assessments of your coating suppliers.

You want to develop an action plan to ensure compliance with CQI-12.

  • Understand the customer specific requirements who require the CQI-12.
  • Discover the contents of the CQI-12 manual (self-assessment tables, product audit, etc.).
  • Identify the key points of the manual.
  • Learn how to use the self-assessment questionnaire from the CQI-12 manual through a self-assessment on field.
  • Develop an action plan for implementing the manual.
  • Quality Engineers,
  • Process/Manufacturing Engineers,
  • Internal Auditors,
  • Production Supervisors,
  • Coating Process Specialists.

The teaching method alternates between theoretical sequences on the CQI-9 requirements and application sequences through exercises, and practical self-assessment exercise in the field.

Knowledge test (Multi Choice Questions).

Participant’s file containing the theoretical principles outlined during the training.
