Description

You would like to become a 1st or 2nd party auditor of environmental management system.
As part of your continual improvement process, you are looking to develop competencies of your auditors to audit your environmental management system.

  • To be able to prepare, conduct and close an audit according to the ISO 19011 requirements.
  • Be able to use the ISO 14001 standard in the context of internal and suppliers’ audits.
  • Be able to take into account the regulatory requirements and the relevant requirements of the interested parties, applicable to the company.
  • To acquire the methodology and tools to make an audit effective and relevant.

This training provides practical application to all the audit phases, using our ECOSEAT case study: developing the audit questionnaire, conducting the auditor/auditee interviews, writing the audit report and conducting the closing meeting.
This training course is based on a culture of performance measurement, KPI and risk analysis, so that the audit is used as a powerful tool for continuous improvement.

Evaluation by the trainer of participants’ ability to apply the concepts and tools through practical case studies.
Knowledge check through a quiz to confirm learning outcomes.

The ISO 14001 standard is not provided during the training course: the trainee must have the standard (latest version) to take part in the training course. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.

Session 1 – Preparing for an Audit

  • How to create an audit questionnaire: auditing continuous improvement management and risk control using Crosby’s turtle.

  • Developing the audit scenario and questionnaire by auditors, aligned with ISO 14001 requirements and regulatory obligations (based on our ECOSEAT case study).

  • Validation by the trainer before auditor/auditee interviews.

Session 2 – Auditor Behaviour

  • Key behavioural qualities of auditors.

  • Questioning techniques.

  • Practical exercises: role-playing.

Session 3 – Conducting Audit Interviews

  • Performing audits through auditor/auditee role-playing (using our ECOSEAT case study).

  • Debriefing session with the trainer.

Session 4 – Drafting the Audit Report and Presenting Conclusions

  • Best practices for writing audit reports.

  • Exercises on documenting audit findings.

  • Writing audit reports (based on the ECOSEAT case study).

  • Best practices for reporting findings.

  • Providing feedback (using the ECOSEAT case study).

Session 5 – Training Assessment
