Description

The “Basic Design FMEA according to the AIAG-VDA manual” module is an e-learning course designed to introduce you to the Design FMEA approach used in the automotive industry and harmonised by the AIAG and the VDA.

You wish to:

  • Get refresher courses for participants in Design FMEA.
  • Get refresher training for internal and 2nd party auditors, in accordance with the requirements 7.2.3d) of IATF 16949: 2016.
  • Learn the basics of the AIAG-VDA Design FMEA approach, so that you can better prepare for your next facilitator or project manager training course.

In a 1-hour session, the e-learning module “The basics of Design FMEA according to the AIAG-VDA manual” enables learners to:

  • Understand the main changes, improvements and benefits compared with the 4th edition of the AIAG.
  • Understand the 7 steps of the AIAG-VDA approach.
  • Understand the “AP” risk prioritisation index, which replaces the IPR/RPN, enabling the need for action to be assessed at three levels: High, Medium, Low.

If the learner has no knowledge of the Design FMEA, this e-learning course will enable him to acquire the basics enabling him to take part in a future Design FMEA.

Anyone wishing to acquire basic knowledge of Design FMEA in accordance with the AIAG-VDA manual.

This module is structured into 6 learning modules, based on the 7 steps of the AIAG-VDA approach, followed by a module for assessing the learner’s knowledge.

Each module involves the learner in interactive activities, integrating new knowledge and identifying pitfalls to avoid.

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups.
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.
