Description

You have some knowledge of electrical/electrical engineering or software in the automotive field and are looking to acquire basic knowledge to be able to carry out activities related to this area: software updates, guided analysis of electrical/electrical faults, etc.

You want to improve your ability to understand/grasp the needs of your customers in the automotive field, become a point of contact on the subject, and develop the electrical/electrical market for both software and hardware.

  • Understand electrical physical quantities (voltage, current, resistance, power, energy and basic signal concepts) and their relationships in automotive applications.
  • Be aware of the appropriate physical scale for thermal/electric vehicles.
  • Be able to safely and correctly use measurement devices in automotive environments
  • Understand operating modes and energy flow in different types of vehicle propulsion systems
  • Be aware of the assemblies and their components that manage the vehicle’s functions
  • Know the types of communication and the different reprogramming equipment to be used for each component covered
  • Have a basic understanding of communication architectures and protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN)
  • Understand the usefulness of traceability and security in reflash activity.
  • Product engineers who wish to eventually participate in a project involving electrical/electronic systems
  • Production maintenance team member
  • Quality technician/engineer who wishes to eventually participate in a project involving electrical/electronic systems

Various activities are planned to put learners in practical situations.

Knowledge test (multiple-choice questions)

Participant’s file containing the theoretical principles outlined during the training and exercise materials.

Prerequisites

No prerequisites. The B0L qualification is recommended and would be considered an advantage.

Required equipment: Personal Computer + reliable internet connection

Program

  1. The following concepts are covered: current, voltage, resistance, capacitance ….
  2. Concepts of associated metrology (use of appropriate measuring equipment: multimeter, megaohmmeter, microohmmeter, etc.)
  3. Simplified operation of a combustion engine, hybrid, and electric car (battery, electric motor, etc.)
  4. Architectures of simplified car function (ADAS, infotainment, etc.)
  5. Concepts of reprogramming (reflashing): theory and practical workshop (understanding the different software stages: bootloader/application software/calibration)
