Description

The CQI-12 (Coating System Assessment) is a standard developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group to assess and improve the control of coating processes, in particular surface treatments such as painting, electroplating and functional coatings, which are widely used in the automotive industry.

In accordance with the IATF 16949 standard and within the framework of specific customer requirements, this standard applies to all suppliers in the automotive sector that use coating processes.

The aim of the CQI-12 assessment is to reduce the risk of failure associated with surface treatment processes, to ensure the durability, adhesion and performance of coatings applied to components, and to guarantee their compliance with the quality, safety and performance requirements expected by automotive manufacturers.

This standard is part of a strategy for the continuous improvement of specialised processes. It provides a structured framework enabling organisations to self-assess across several key areas: control of coating processes, equipment compliance, management of critical parameters, staff competence and the effectiveness of control systems.

You wish to familiarise yourself with the requirements and best practices of CQI-12, as well as the self-assessment guidelines, in order to implement improvement measures designed to ensure the quality, durability and performance of the coatings applied to your products.

  • Understand the customer-specific requirements related to CQI-12
  • Gain familiarity with the CQI-12 manual, including self-assessment tables, job audits, and related tools
  • Identify the key elements of the manual and the gaps to be addressed to ensure compliance
  • Learn how to apply the CQI-12 self-assessment criteria through a technical case study
  • Develop an action plan to implement the CQI-12 manual
  • Professionals involved in the development, implementation, or evaluation of special processes
  • Internal auditors and suppliers

The training combines theoretical sessions covering CQI-12 manual requirements with practical exercises and a technical case study.
