Description

  • Understand and perform the responsibilities and tasks of a process owner as defined by IATF 16949.
  • Practice the various activities required of a process owner through a case study.
  • Involve participants in their Continuous Improvement Plan.
Duration : 2 days + 4 hours in a virtual classroom day(s)
  • Grasp the principles and requirements of process and process-based management
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Process Owner
  • Learn to apply tools and methods to monitor process effectiveness
  • Lead your teams in managing your process and driving its continuous improvement
  • Develop your Personal Progress Plan as a Process Owner
  • Process owners/pilots, whether new to an existing Quality Management System or not, where the process map is ‘up to date’.
  • Quality managers, QHSE managers, as well as engineers and technicians.
  • System auditors.

No prior knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 is necessary.

  • Group activities combined with the development of a Personal Progress Plan (PPP). These activities are built around a case study, enabling participants to experience the role of a process pilot in a realistic context.
  • At each stage, the Process Owner will apply the tools used to their own process.
  • After each part, the Process Owner will identify further actions needed to apply the tools, address issues, or enhance their process. These actions will be reviewed during the second phase of the training, in the dedicated feedback session.
  • Knowledge check through multiple-choice questions covering the key points of the session.
  • RETEX (6 to 8 weeks after the initial 2 days):
    – Presentation of individual work, application context, and results achieved.
    – Trainer’s analysis of the work, with additional guidance, feedback, and recommendations for next steps.

Participant file with course and exercise materials. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups.
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of key concepts and tools such as PDCA, the Crosby Turtle diagram, 5 WHYs, QQOCCP, etc.
  • Bring your own laptop and process-related files, and be comfortable using EXCEL (a template with process management tools will be provided and used during the session).
